Job Description
Vice President of Operations
Purpose:
The Vice President of Operations plays a pivotal role in driving the success of the organization by building and leading strong, high-performing teams across multiple markets. This position focuses on enhancing business value through increased sales and transaction growth, ensuring top-quality products, services, and personnel, and maintaining a balance in operational costs. Additionally, this role involves oversight of various business functions, including Human Resources, Learning and Development, Real Estate & Construction, Design & Development, and Category Management.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee operations across regional cafes, bakeries, and other retail channels.
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards, service quality, and cost efficiency.
- Guide team member development and establish robust succession planning strategies.
- Provide strategic input for future organizational initiatives.
- Manage Profit & Loss (P&L) statements effectively.
- Lead project management efforts for critical organizational initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (four-year program).
- Industry Experience: At least 10 years in a related field.
- Internal Experience (Panera): Minimum of 10 years.

The Vice President of Operations oversees the following roles:
- Director of Retail Operations
- Senior Regional Operations Manager
Work Environment:
The role involves extensive travel across the United States and Canada, with 45-50 weeks of travel annually. Activities include standing in cafes, participating in team meetings, and engaging in on-site evaluations.
