About the Role
The Vice President, Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer (CDO) will lead Pinterest’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) efforts. As a strategic advisor, the CDO will integrate DEIB principles into business operations and drive transformative cultural initiatives. This role collaborates with leadership, the Board of Directors, and employees to advance the organization’s mission and foster a thriving, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive DEIB strategy aligned with Pinterest’s objectives.
- Advise the Chief People Officer and executives on DEIB matters and chair a DEI council to ensure company-wide accountability.
- Manage and mentor a team of approximately 10 DEIB professionals.
Program Development & Execution
- Create and oversee DEIB programs to enhance workplace diversity and belonging.
- Collaborate with HR and business leaders to embed DEIB principles into hiring, development, and performance processes.
- Communicate DEIB initiatives effectively within and outside the company.
Measurement & Analysis
- Set metrics to track DEIB progress, identify areas for improvement, and report to stakeholders.
Cultural Transformation
- Foster a culture of inclusion, encourage diverse perspectives, and implement bias training.
- Support employee resource groups and inclusion programs.
Community & Partnerships
- Build external relationships to reinforce Pinterest’s reputation as a DEIB leader.
- Represent Pinterest at events and conferences to showcase its commitment to diversity.
Fiscal Oversight
- Develop and manage DEIB budgets while ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in DEIB leadership roles, with a proven track record in coaching and organizational change.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
- Experience working in multicultural or global environments is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 30% and flexibility to work near Pinterest’s U.S. hubs, with 1-2 in-office days per month.
Compensation and Benefits
This U.S.-based role offers a competitive salary range of $300,000 to $450,000, plus equity, with final pay determined by location, experience, and expertise. Pinterest is committed to fostering an equitable workplace and providing resources for professional growth.
