The Hershey Company’s Robinson plant operates as a non-union facility specializing in the production of popular confectionery items, including PayDay, Heath, Skor, Milk Duds, Whoppers, and Reese’s Pieces. It thrives in a dynamic, high-speed manufacturing environment.

The Senior HR Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing various administrative tasks such as recruitment, employee record maintenance, leave of absence requests, and resolving employee relations or benefits issues. This role also oversees training tracking, tuition reimbursement, and acts as the facility’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Coordinator. By leveraging data and metrics, the Senior HR Coordinator identifies opportunities to enhance processes, communication, and HR services. Additionally, this role functions as an SAP and Vacation Scheduling System (VSS) Super User and provides administrative and project support as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:

  • Leads the hourly recruitment process to achieve hiring goals.
  • Plans and facilitates orientation and onboarding for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Tracks and coordinates bids, skills training, and certification efforts for organizational needs.

HR Compliance & Excellence:

  • Collaborates with Corporate HR on EEO-1, VETS-100, and Affirmative Action plans, as well as other mandated reporting requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.
  • Maintains and updates the Employee Handbook to ensure consistency with manufacturing practices.
  • Supports labor negotiations and educates stakeholders on HR technology and shared services.
  • Assists with employee transitions, including retirements, resignations, and severances.

Employee Engagement & Recognition:

  • Administers and communicates recognition programs, including perfect attendance and service awards.
  • Prepares and distributes employment-related communications.
  • Responds to employee inquiries about policies and procedures, directing them to appropriate resources as needed.
  • Supports engagement initiatives and oversees employee programs such as uniforms, cafeteria, and vending services.

High-Performance Culture Development:

  • Serves as a training facilitator and supports documentation and coordination of training activities.
  • Provides research and analysis for various projects and assists with process improvements.
  • Participates in developing administrative procedures and drives HR-related enhancements.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Builds positive, trustworthy working relationships and respects diverse viewpoints.
  • Adjusts to changing priorities while maintaining focus on tasks.
  • Demonstrates expertise in Affirmative Action plans, EEO-1, VETS-100, ADA, and compliance reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP HR and ability to implement HR process improvements.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in employee relations, labor relations, training, or safety.
  • Background in HR capabilities, staffing, and training is highly desirable.
