Position Overview
Fastmarkets is looking for a dedicated Price Reporter to join its Americas metals team in the U.S. This role focuses on covering prices, news, and market commentary for the U.S. aluminum sector. The Price Reporter will collaborate with cross-regional and cross-functional teams while contributing to key sustainability initiatives. Reporting directly to the Americas base metals editor, this fully remote role offers the opportunity to engage in industry events and expand expertise in metals markets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Price Discovery and Analysis:
    • Analyze commodity market fundamentals, including price drivers and industry participants.
    • Maintain compliance with methodology and processes while expanding knowledge of other metals markets.
  2. Value-Added Reporting:
    • Publish exclusive news and insightful market commentary.
    • Support marketing efforts through white papers, landing pages, and social media content.
  3. Market Engagement:
    • Build and manage a network of industry contacts and pricing data sources.
    • Attend and present at conferences while supporting external meetings to promote price development.
  4. Professional Representation:
    • Work with integrity and align with company values.
    • Efficiently manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Experience in metals, commodities, or financial markets, with business writing skills preferred.
  • Strong analytical abilities to distill complex topics and interpret data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to handle confidential information and liaise with industry professionals.
