Position Overview:
The Cheesecake Factory Bakery, known for its exquisite desserts and a consistent spot on Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For®,” values its team as its greatest asset. The Plant Director oversees all production and packaging operations in a three-shift, seven-day setup within a 100,000-square-foot facility. Leading a workforce of around 500 employees, this role ensures seamless operations, covering production scheduling, raw materials, packaging logistics, baking, decorating, and packaging.
With approximately $75 million in gross sales, the Plant Director optimizes resources, maintains high performance in safety, quality, service, and cost, and aligns efforts with the company’s mission and values. This leader also supports business continuity during the VP of Operations’ absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster strong employee relations through transparent and effective communication.
- Collaborate with HR to create training and development programs, ensuring a positive work environment.
- Monitor compliance with legal regulations and improve employee performance through retention and attendance strategies.
- Plan production schedules efficiently, balancing resources and optimizing capacity.
- Oversee preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and enhance equipment performance.
- Manage costs by reducing waste, optimizing yields, and adhering to budgets.
- Maintain strict food quality and safety standards, aiming for top audit scores.
- Lead safety initiatives, ensuring compliance and reducing injury rates.
- Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and cross-functional meetings to align operational goals.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years in food manufacturing leadership, preferably in the bakery/dessert industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering; MBA preferred.
- Expertise in food safety regulations, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and P&L management.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and analytical skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
