Job Description

**Job Overview:**
The Payroll Coordinator plays a key role in managing payroll operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, verifying transactions, and addressing payroll-related inquiries.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

– Process payroll using an automated system to ensure accuracy and timeliness, including inputting hours for non-exempt employees.
– Maintain and update employee payroll files.
– Handle off-cycle payments as requested by Human Resources.
– File various federal, state, and local reports and returns.
– Investigate and resolve payroll-related issues, answering inquiries and enforcing payroll policies.
– Prepare and distribute W-2 forms each year.
– Support employees with access to ADP Payroll Self Service.
– Manage garnishments, child support, and tax levies.
– Track hours worked by employees in different states, adjusting tax withholdings accordingly.
– Assist with payroll general ledger account reconciliation.
– Perform other duties as needed.

**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
None.

**Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:**

**Education:**
– High School diploma or GED required.
– Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

**Experience:**
– At least one year of payroll processing, AP/AR, or relevant administrative experience required.
– Experience with multi-state payroll is a plus.

**Technical Skills:**
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.
– Familiarity with ADP payroll systems is preferred.

**Additional Skills and Abilities:**
– Strong understanding of federal and state payroll laws and standard payroll processes.
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Ability to work effectively with professionals across all levels.
– Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment with attention to detail.
– Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of payroll information.
– Exceptional customer service skills.
