Payroll Coordinator Job Description
Job Summary:
The Payroll Coordinator manages payroll processes, ensuring accurate transactions, timely resolution of inquiries, and compliance with policies. This role involves gathering payroll data, processing payments, and maintaining employee records with precision and confidentiality.
Job Duties:
- Process payroll using an automated system, including non-exempt employee hours.
- Maintain detailed employee payroll files.
- Manage off-cycle payments as requested by Human Resources.
- File federal, state, and local payroll reports.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and enforce compliance with policies.
- Issue annual W-2 forms to employees.
- Assist employees with accessing ADP Payroll Self-Service.
- Administer garnishments, child support, and tax levies.
- Track multi-state employee hours and withhold appropriate taxes.
- Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum one year of payroll, AP/AR, or administrative experience (required).
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing (preferred).
Licenses/Certifications:
- None.
Software Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (required).
- Familiarity with ADP payroll systems (preferred).
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of federal and state payroll laws and practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all professional levels.
- Strong multitasking skills in a detail-oriented, deadline-driven environment.
- Commitment to confidentiality and superior customer service.
