Job Description

Job Summary
As part of the property’s Human Resources team, this role collaborates with HR staff to oversee daily activities such as recruitment, compensation, and employee development. The position emphasizes delivering HR services that meet employee needs, drive business success, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Candidate Profile

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or GED with 3 years of experience in HR, management operations, or a similar field.
    • OR a 2-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with 1 year of experience in HR or related professional areas.

Core Responsibilities

Recruitment Management

  • Assist in interviewing and hiring HR staff with the required skills.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external recruitment sources.
  • Represent the company at job fairs and document outreach efforts as per HR procedures.
  • Network with local organizations to source potential candidates.
  • Supervise the candidate selection process and offer expertise to property managers on selection procedures.

Employee Benefits Administration

  • Coordinate with unemployment service providers to manage claims and audits.
  • Oversee unemployment hearings to ensure accurate representation.
  • Ensure the department has adequate resources to administer employee benefits effectively.

Employee Development Management

  • Support orientation programs and cross-training initiatives for employees.
  • Utilize training tools and supervise ongoing development activities.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation to ensure a positive onboarding experience.
  • Partner with management to implement effective departmental training processes.

Employee Relations

  • Maintain effective communication channels and assist in company-wide meetings.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of progressive discipline documentation.
  • Address employee concerns through an open-door policy, escalating issues when needed.
  • Collaborate with Loss Prevention on employee accident investigations.

Legal Compliance & Practices

  • Ensure employee files are secure and maintained according to regulations.
  • Facilitate drug testing processes as applicable.
  • Communicate property policies through handbooks, meetings, and bulletins.
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and represent HR at safety committee meetings.

Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $71,000–$91,000 annually. Marriott offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus programs, health care benefits, 401(k) with up to 5% company match, stock purchase plans, paid time off, parental leave, and more. Benefits are subject to eligibility and waiting periods and may be modified per applicable laws.
