As the Human Resources Director, you will oversee the recruitment of qualified personnel, ensure compliance with employee regulations, manage wages, benefits, and workers’ compensation, and implement training programs. This leadership role involves fostering positive team member relations, coaching, mentoring, handling payroll, and being part of the hotel’s Executive Committee.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Approach guests and team members with a friendly, service-oriented attitude.
  • Maintain professionalism and adherence to company grooming standards.
  • Oversee hiring processes, including behavioral interviews and reference checks.
  • Conduct onboarding and new team member orientation programs.
  • Administer employee benefits, payroll changes, and personnel actions.
  • Design and implement employee relations programs, recognition initiatives, and performance management strategies.
  • Act as a liaison between the hotel and community to promote positive public relations.
  • Develop training programs and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all government employment laws and internal HR policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and handle workers’ compensation claims.
  • Mentor and train team members, conduct performance evaluations, and foster career development.
  • Analyze turnover rates and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Participate in safety committees and loss prevention initiatives.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five years of HR experience, ideally in the hospitality sector.
  • Certification as a Certified Human Resources Executive (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work long hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to exert light physical effort, such as lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Capacity to move around the property during tours or meetings.
