Job Description

**Position Overview:**

As an HR Generalist, you’ll play a key role in supporting restaurant teams while fostering a culture that values every team member. This on-site role ensures that HR support is readily available for both management and staff, enhancing the company’s HR functions.

In this role, you’ll oversee a variety of HR tasks, from coordinating scheduling and onboarding to ensuring compliance with training programs, performance reviews, and engagement efforts. You’ll also handle wage analysis, conduct investigations, implement HR programs, conduct HR audits, and interpret company policies, offering guidance to managers on employee relations and disciplinary matters.

– **Onboarding Expert:** Ensure new hires have a smooth start by coordinating their schedules, orientations, and onboarding processes for long-term success.
– **Growth Champion:** Help new team members during their first 60 days by planning training schedules and certifications to support their professional development.
– **Compliance Specialist:** Ensure adherence to training programs and labor laws through audits, minimizing risk while maintaining compliance.
– **Culture Promoter:** Act as a cultural advocate, fostering an inclusive environment that aligns with the company’s values and standards.
– **Effective Problem-Solver:** Navigate employee relations and benefits issues with sound judgment, finding resolutions for complex situations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

*Operations:*
– Guide the initial training and certifications of new hires within their first 60 days.
– Collaborate with different departments to foster development initiatives.
– Manage manager and professional development plans.
– Oversee compliance with training programs and organize recognition programs and events.
– Support safety initiatives and collaborate on performance reviews and salary adjustments.

*Human Resources:*
– Conduct wage analysis and ensure compliance with HR policies.
– Lead HR training sessions and engagement initiatives.
– Handle corrective actions, work restrictions, and the benefits enrollment process.
– Oversee I-9 and E-Verify processes, handle UI claims, and perform HR audits and reporting.

*Staff Relations/Investigations:*
– Investigate employee complaints thoroughly, document findings, and recommend actions.
– Manage cases using Ethics Point or similar tools, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.

*Compliance and Risk Management:*
– Ensure adherence to labor laws and internal policies, identifying risks and keeping records up-to-date.

*Upholding the Culture:*
– Foster a workplace that aligns with the company’s values, promoting diversity and inclusion.
– Serve as a cultural ambassador, incorporating the company’s values into daily operations.

**Requirements:**

– BA or BS degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
– Minimum 3 years of HR/Employee Relations/Investigations experience.
– Bilingual in English and Spanish.
– Strong knowledge of HR practices and state and federal labor laws.
– Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to HR technology.
– Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
– Collaborative, empathetic, and experienced in managing complex issues.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

– PHR/SPHR certification.
– Experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry HR, providing insight into industry-specific challenges.
