Job Description

**Main Purpose of the Role:**
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist is responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee development, labor relations, compensation management, benefits administration, policy interpretation, and regulatory compliance. This position is based at the manufacturing site and requires working five days a week, primarily on the first shift, but with flexibility to support second, third shifts, and weekends when needed.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**HR Strategy Execution (30%):**
– Support the implementation of Nestlé’s People Strategy to attract, develop, recognize, and retain employees, addressing both short- and long-term business needs.
– Drive initiatives such as leadership development and workforce planning, including talent development, organizational planning, and change management.
– Foster a work environment that is inclusive, empowering, fair, and equitable.
– Manage special projects in workforce management, strategic planning, and people data reporting.

**Recruitment (25%):**
– Oversee staffing efforts for both salaried and hourly positions, ensuring the right talent is hired and retained.
– Collaborate with talent management teams on recruitment, job postings, interviews, and diversity recruitment strategies.

**Performance & Talent Management (10%):**
– Use performance management systems to support organizational goals by setting objectives, conducting performance calibrations, and promoting talent development.
– Provide guidance to managers in individual and team performance improvements.
– Mentor leadership on people management and development matters.

**Employee Relations (25%):**
– Build and maintain strong relationships with employees to encourage open communication and feedback.
– Conduct investigations and provide coaching when necessary, ensuring a productive and respectful work environment.

**Compliance (10%):**
– Support safety initiatives by driving people-related safety goals.
– Conduct audits and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, including EEO, AA, FMLA, ADA, and Worker’s Compensation.

**Qualifications:**
– A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field is preferred.
– At least 2 years of experience in a professional HR role, or 5+ years of experience without a degree.
– Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.
– Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including EEO, FMLA, and Worker’s Compensation.
– Willingness to travel (up to 10%).

**Skills & Experience:**
– Experience in compensation, benefits administration, and recruitment.
– Project management experience, such as conducting wage surveys or revising employee handbooks.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, with PeopleSoft or SAP experience preferred.
– Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain reliability.
