HR Business Partner – Seaside Dining Group (San Jose, CA)
Seaside Dining Group, an independently owned and operated franchisee of Denny’s, is seeking a passionate and dynamic HR Business Partner to strengthen employee relations, foster career development, and enhance the overall employee experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $85,000 – $100,000
- Employee-paid medical insurance

Position Summary:
The HR Business Partner will support HR functions, including payroll processing, recruitment, hiring, retention, and compliance. This role also involves reviewing incident reports, conducting employee meetings, preparing reports, and analyzing HR data to guide organizational improvements. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Supervisory Role:
Indirect supervision of HR and field staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal and External HR Services:
- Collect, analyze, and report HR data on recruitment, turnover, and compliance trends.
- Propose and implement policies to enhance organizational culture and attract talent.
- Support the recruitment process, from job description drafting to candidate interviews.
- Ensure legal compliance in various HR-related matters.
- Organize and facilitate training for field employees.
- Conduct classification audits and assist with preparing government reports.
Internal and External Payroll Services:
- Process payroll information, including taxes, benefits, and deductions.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and address discrepancies.
- Process federal and state tax deposits and ensure payroll compliance.
- Utilize systems like iSolved, Dine, eRestaurant, and Altametrics.
Selection Criteria and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of payroll processing experience.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws and HR regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR/payroll software systems.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle, with regular travel across California (90% fieldwork).
