The role involves recruiting, vetting, and placing lawyers in top in-house legal departments and law firms, both locally in Austin and nationally. While there are traditional recruitment tasks like general counsel placements, the focus is primarily on hiring experienced attorneys as Latitude W2 employees for interim assignments with our clients. You’ll be responsible for maintaining ongoing communication with attorneys, conducting interviews, and providing tailored client proposals. While the role allows for some remote flexibility, the responsibilities require attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, vet, and place attorney candidates for in-house counsel and law firm positions, both permanent and contract, across the country.
  • Maintain regular communication with attorneys during placements to ensure satisfaction and smooth transitions.
  • Interview candidates to understand their career goals and match them with suitable opportunities.
  • Perform extensive reference checks and other vetting procedures.
  • Present candidates to clients, effectively showcasing their qualifications.
  • Conduct onboarding for attorneys and legal professionals.
  • Participate in Latitude events for networking and professional development.
  • Engage with the local legal community through professional associations and events.
  • Collaborate within a supportive, fun, and dynamic team.

Requirements:

  • At least four years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in a corporate law firm or legal department.
  • Strong rapport-building skills with clients and candidates.
  • Proficient in utilizing online recruitment tools and networking for candidate sourcing.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with an emphasis on client service.
  • Detail-oriented, trustworthy, and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Must be a team player with a positive, proactive attitude.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, flexible schedule with occasional in-person meetings and participation in after-hours events.
  • Requires high responsiveness and ability to work under tight deadlines, including evening and weekend work when necessary.
  • Competitive base salary, bonuses, and full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401k.
  • The salary range for this role is $105,000-$115,000 with potential bonuses up to 25%.
