Job Description
**Position Overview**
The Director of Human Resources is a vital leadership role, directly reporting to the property’s General Manager with a functional connection to the Regional Senior Director of Human Resources. This role is part of the executive committee, contributing significant expertise in human resources management for the property. Key responsibilities include overseeing talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee development, performance management, and HR strategy alignment with property and brand goals. This role requires independence in designing processes to support these goals and the effective use of technology to enhance HR functions. The Director will work to drive business outcomes through HR initiatives, supporting overall property and brand success.
**Qualifications**
– **Education**: A 2-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with four years of relevant experience, or a 4-year bachelor’s degree in similar fields with at least two years of professional experience.
**Key Responsibilities**
*Human Resources Strategy Execution*
– Lead employee engagement efforts based on survey feedback.
– Support talent management aligned with property and regional diversity initiatives.
– Translate business needs into targeted HR strategies and plans.
– Implement HR initiatives across the property.
– Guide succession planning and human capital reviews to strengthen the leadership pipeline.
– Monitor efficient use of HR systems by managers and employees.
– Participate in strategic meetings and provide insights into HR metrics, including retention and employee satisfaction.
*Recruitment and Staffing Management*
– Balance existing talent development with property staffing needs.
– Guide and facilitate effective hiring and selection processes.
– Identify staffing optimizations and work process improvements.
– Develop hiring strategies alongside hiring managers, covering compensation and benefits.
– Ensure managers are skilled in evaluating hourly staff candidates.
*Compensation and Benefits Management*
– Keep informed on competitive compensation trends.
– Oversee hourly employee compensation planning and ensure the communication of total compensation programs.
– Engage in internal equity assessments and address any discrepancies.
– Design recognition and incentive programs aligned with property priorities.
*Employee Development and Relations*
– Ensure HR staff fulfill their responsibilities as outlined in their job descriptions.
– Train HR staff on employee relations to effectively support property employees.
– Promote positive employee relations and serve as an advisor on employee relations issues.
**Compensation and Benefits**
The annual salary range for this position is $126,000 to $159,000. Marriott offers comprehensive benefits, including a bonus program, health care, a 401(k) with matching contributions, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, parental leave, health savings accounts, and additional incentives such as stock options and deferred compensation.
