Asset Protection Manager Job Description
The Asset Protection Manager oversees the store’s Asset Protection team, focusing on recruiting, training, performance management, and budgeting. This role is pivotal in implementing the company’s shrinkage reduction strategies and ensuring employee safety, theft prevention, and alignment with organizational values. The Asset Protection Manager collaborates with cross-functional store leaders to enhance the overall asset protection operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model by implementing the Asset Protection (AP) Division’s strategies.
- Build strong relationships with store leadership, including Store Managers, Inventory Accuracy, and Human Resources, to address shrink-related issues effectively.
- Manage building security and safety, educating employees on emergency preparedness and assisting in safety incidents.
- Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of AP incidents and cases.
- Utilize data analytics to identify theft trends and implement preventive measures.
- Execute shrink reduction initiatives, investigating theft and dishonest activities.
- Lead a team by hiring and developing skilled individuals to manage investigations, audits, and AP awareness programs.
- Leverage reports to identify risks and take actions to minimize losses and maximize profitability.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in investigative techniques, asset protection, and security, with prior leadership roles in AP.
- Strong understanding of Exception-Based Reporting tools and Case Management Software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for fostering productive relationships with colleagues and leaders.
- Clear and professional communication skills with both employees and customers.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills under high-pressure situations.
- Exceptional written communication and organizational skills, with the ability to delegate and follow through effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in computer systems, including surveillance and monitoring technologies.
- High level of accountability, initiative, and ownership.
- Flexibility to adapt to departmental and store scheduling needs.
