Position Overview

This team ensures that employee concerns are addressed fairly and effectively while maintaining a positive work environment.

As an HR Generalist, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting restaurant staff and management. This onsite role involves overseeing HR operations such as employee onboarding, performance reviews, scheduling, compliance programs, and staff engagement initiatives. You will also handle HR responsibilities, including wage analysis, employee investigations, benefits management, training programs, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

  • Oversee the onboarding and training processes for new hires during their first 60 days.
  • Partner with field training managers to support professional development initiatives.
  • Manage recognition programs, compliance audits, and safety committees.
  • Collaborate with senior operators on performance evaluations and salary adjustments.

Human Resources

  • Conduct wage analyses and ensure HR compliance.
  • Provide HR training, manage benefits education, and address staff concerns.
  • Handle employee engagement efforts and corrective actions.
  • Oversee processes like I-9, E-Verify, and unemployment claims.

Staff Relations

  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints with fairness and confidentiality.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and recommend actions based on findings.
  • Use case management tools to track and manage investigations.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies.
  • Mitigate risks by maintaining accurate HR records and monitoring compliance.

Culture and Values

  • Act as a cultural ambassador, promoting the company’s values and ethics.
  • Support diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR, employee relations, or investigations.
  • Proficiency in state and federal labor laws.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR/SPHR certification.
  • HR experience in the restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
